Collection: Give Me Liberty

"Give me liberty, or give me death," is often on the lips of young Chinese people.
Imagine being tied by a rope—the length of that rope becomes the limit of your freedom.

Once, while hiking in the countryside, I saw a rooster tied with a rope. One end was fastened to a tree trunk, the other to its right leg. Though the rooster was strong and had feathers brighter than any I’d ever seen, it had lost its freedom. When it crowed at the sky, it no longer sounded proud and bold, but almost like it was crying.

Inspired by that experience, we designed this parrot chasing a butterfly.

Just beyond the reach of its rope, no matter how hard it struggles, even shaking the flowers off the tree, it can never get close to the butterfly it longs for.

Through this design, we express the idea behind the words often spoken by Chinese youth:Give me liberty, or give me death.
